Writer. Editor. Single Mother. Lipstick Lover. Bronzer Hoarder.
Andrea Arterbery is a Dallas, Texas based freelance writer born and raised in the tiny town of Marshall, Texas. While growing up in Marshall, she read piles of books, tried on all of the beauty products that she could steal from her mom's massive AVON stash all while becoming the biggest band nerd in America. All of her musical talents paid off as she was able to audition and earn a spot in The University Of North Texas' College Of Music. However, after about a year, she decided that she liked writing for the college newspaper more, so she switched her major to Journalism. After graduating with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Journalism, Andrea decided that moving to New York would be a better idea than sticking around Texas. The blazing blizzards and freezing temperatures almost made her give up on NYC life, but she somehow landed a gig covering beauty for the (now defunct) print version of Women's Wear Daily. Soon afterwards, she landed a fabulous Beauty Editor job at ESSENCE magazine. Since then, she has published beauty articles in The New York Times, Cosmopolitan and Allure. She writes regularly for top women's magazine websites and has a serious hoarding problem when it comes to beauty products. Andrea is also a fun single mom, so when she's not writing beauty articles or working on her newest novel, you'll find her hanging out with her toddler at the park.
